Purpose and Destiny
What is destiny? Destiny can be defined as the sum total of a person’s action defined by or the lack thereof of his mandate in one’s life. Destiny is a specific future outcome that results from a premeditated or inevitable course of events.
A man’s destiny carries everything they need for their life. Pursuing ones destiny helps one to become the person that God desired him to be. Apostle William K Kimani in his book persuing your destiny he notes that “ A man’s destiny covers all things – houses, land, good marriage, good education, peace and joy in life, wealth in general, cities and nations”
If you become what God wanted for you to become in your life, you will not struggle because you will obtain what was ordained for you. 2 Peter 1:3 says that; “according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness...”
Any great destiny attracts fierce battle. Importance of pursuing destiny:
- You become the person that God desired you to be and not the one fashioned according to the worldly standard.
- You live a life of purpose
- You realize your full potential
- You find safety and protection through pursuing your purpose. The devil fights potential
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Proverbs 16: - 1 the preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord. 2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weighed the spirits. 3 Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. 4 The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. 7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. 9 A man’s heart devised his way: but the Lord directs his steps.
God is the holder of our destinies: There is a path that God has prepared for each one of us.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”
Psalm 16:11 you make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
